GF Raw Fudge, 2013, and I'm Back

Happy 2013 gang. This post initially said Happy 2031, because I am a dyslexic typist. If you have been fortunate enough for me to comment on your blog you would indeed be aware of this handicap.

Many Two readers have asked of my whereabouts. My apologies for my MIA status since late November. When we got home from visiting my ailing Dad in LA Psycho Boy and I walked right into holiday crunch time. Veganville was slammed from Black Friday though New Year's. Thank you Etsy and Etsy buyers. Now the store is like a wild west shootout. Everybody's left town. The first few weeks in January are like that in the baking biz. Record numbers in the gym. Huge sales for Vita-mix, nada for sweets. I thought about sending smoothies through the mail, but mailing something liquid and green sounded too much like a bio-hazard.

I am still working out and running and playing tennis. My workouts have mostly been fueled by raw fudge. That's the Power of Fudge bahahaha. Remember that song? Maybe not. I am addicted to that stuff. It's finally out of the house. I'll give you the recipe, but alas no picture because who has time to set up a shot, when you are inhaling those babies.

I will give you a picture of Veganville's new gfxx or gluten free, (I forget how many xxx's there are in gluten free), cupcakes. Besides how would you even know if these are gluten free by the picture. I could be fibbing.

But I'm not. Oh to find the fudge recipe I've bee using go here. Double the recipe and put it in an 8x8 pan though.

Well it's nice to see you. Sorry my first post back is a little short, but I'm running a little late for my polygraph.

Big Sale at Veganville- Really!

You got that right. It's a Big Whopper of a Sale here in Veganville. Take 15% of your item(s) purchase. From right now through Labor Day.  That's right. You gotta have that secret code to use at checkout, or let me know if you are ordering through another source than Etsy. I racked my noggin' for a code that is imaginative, memorable, fancy and wholesome. We thrive on uniqueness here at Veganville.
Drumroll please... the secret code is:
                                                "summersale"

This is what summer in some parts of the Bay Area is like right now!
Remember when you enter the secret code at checkout it is without the quotes, and don't use a space. I'm always happy to take custom orders. Just convo me on Etsy. Stay warm or cool wherever you are.

For The Horseys!

After last week's jalopy hullabaloo I almost forgot to tell you something. I like to share the good stuff too, you know. Particularly when it comes to some shameless self promotion. There's always good if you look for it.

Veganville's PB Lover's Voopee romantically dubbed "PB and Chocolate Get Married" Voopee was chosen as one of Etsy's top five cookies of the week over at this delightful blog called Silverrose Designs.  Holly Westfall promotes other Etsian artists as well as her own beautiful shop, but I made this ...She does not make voopees. Maybe she does, most people do these days.
Holly hand crafted these stunning earrings though. I did not. It's hard to make jewelry when I'm making voopees.
Here is the coolest thing about the above jewelry. You get to support a great animal organization! 100% of the purchase price on these earrings goes to benefit Forever Morgans. FM's mission statement:
ForeverMorgans is an organization of volunteers whose purpose is to be a resource for Morgans in need, whether they are surrendered, rescued from shelters, auctions, kill buyers, or simply removed from potentially dangerous situations. ForeverMorgans wishes to open our virtual barn doors to all Morgans in need of safe and loving homes. We focus on registered Morgans but will consider unregistered Morgans on a case-by-case basis.

So gallop on over to Holly's Shop. You'll be doing a good deed, indeed! I'm done horsing around (oh, boy- sorry). Thank you Holly!

Little Miss Cuffin

If you are a dedicated follower and all around Veganville pal and admirer then you would know that we recently invented something worthy of your knowledge. That's right we here at Veganvillle like to contribute to your over all mental health and adjustment.
In a recent post we introduced the "Cuffin". If you were paying attention you would know that a Cuffin has nothing to do with fisticuffs, although they are so delicious you could probably get away with smashing a Cuffin in someones face. They might even like you for it.
Don't confuse a Cuffin with:

Q:What did one casket say to the other casket?
A: Is that you coffin?

Oh take a riccola already!

A Cuffin is not a coffin and vice versa. Yes, it's true I often eat my Cuffins in a cemetery but that's just me. I like walking after midnight.

A Cuffin is a cross between a muffin and a cupcake. Get it?? Bahahaha.

Check out our new Little Miss Cuffin. And because Miss Cuffin is vegan she'll never include curds or whey ;)

Little Miss Cuffins With PB Glaze
Makes 6 Jumbos
3 medium overripe bananas
1+1/3 cup peanut butter
¼ C agave
¼ cup rice milk mixed with 1tsp apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon non-alcoholic vanilla
1 ¼ cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda

Preheat oven to 350. Line a 6-cup Cuffin pan .

Peel bananas and place in a large mixing bowl mash, then mix in the peanut butter with a fork until well blended. Add agave and stir in the rice milk mixture, and vanilla. Mix in the flour and baking soda. The batter will be thick. It’s cool if a few lumps remain. Using an ice cream scoop, divide batter between cuffin cups, filling 3/4 full. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a tester comes out clean, and remove to cooling rack. Cool in tin for ten minutes, remove from tin and cool on rack. Cool completely before adding glaze.

PB Glaze
3-4 Tsp Rice milk
1 cup powdered sugar
2 T creamy peanut butter
Directions- Just mix them together and drip over cooled Cuffins, or dip Cuffin tops upside down in glaze. Refrigerate for about 45 minutes.

Share them with your favorite spider!

New Kick Ass Chocolate Lover's Sample Box and Vegan Bake Sale

Greetings and Salutations from an undisclosed oven. Please don't confuse me with Sylvia Plath. Sorry, I'm getting a little punch drunk here. New goodies aboard. And in addition to our other nifty locations you can now find Veganville Muffins at Philz Coffee on Shattuck in Berkeley, and at Thyda's Thornhill Coffee House at 5772 Thornhill Drive in Oakland. Come check out our muffins and voopees. Yippekayay.

I had a special request from my buddy Hope (of the cool Blackbird and Peacock) for a "Chocolate Lover's Box" over at Etsy this week. Now why didn't I think of that before? We have a "PB Lover's Box" and a "Mint Lover's Box" and a "Sample Box" and a "Chocolate Voopee Assortment Box", but where was my head on that one? Yeah I know- probably in the oven. Sorry Sylvia. It includes Double Choc Choco Voppees, hunks of devil rich Sam Sam Loaf, Jumbo Chocolate Cupcakes and some Chocolate Mousse to boot. Or if you prefer some groovy Chocolate "Creme" Cheese frosting.

Did a vegan bakesale to raise funds for Animal Place this past weekend. Animal Place rescues abandoned and abused farm animals and does dynamic work.

The mastermind behind the sale is my pal, activist and jewelry and bath/body designer and (part-time bakesale baker) Roni Seabury from Daisywares. There were so many spectacular bakers. A big shout out to Yvonne Emanuel, Tiana Trutna, Dana Portnoy, Me, Raelene Coburn, Kelly Beth, Vanessa Morelan and Laura Etter for donating vegan baked goods to the Animal Place Bake Sale. And of course Roni for making those Mexican Wedding cookies that sold like vegan hotcakes!

People were generous and a big thanx goes out to Nature's Express for letting us use the space in front of their store. Mary Rose rocks. I got to sample their Salt Caramel frozen dessert. Freeze head prevailed but it's oh so good and worth every moment of my icy cerebrum! Everything sold out, well almost everything (there were a couple of lonesome carob muffins left). $602.00 was raised it would have been $604.00 but ahem ahem someone swiped a Chocolate Oatmeal Banana cookie and it ruled! I mean I heard it was quite good.

Yay For Veganville

It's been a week without a bloggie and a week without a bloggie makes one weak. Bahaha. Wait don't go yet. I need to reach a 100 followers very soon. We've been very busy here in Veganville. We've gotten two new awesome local accounts and are burgeoning here in the Bay Area. We are so excited about this. Money is always good but making quality scrumptious vegan food readily available for the masses is even better. Better for the animals, better for the earth, and better for the body. I'll give you specifics and locations real soon.
I'll be trying out two new muffins in the test kitch this week too, but alas have no new pics to share so I think I will shhhh mum's the word, surreptitiously swipe a very pretty picture from another blog.

Ooooh look what I found- a picture of a Veganville Sampler here at this great blog. The picture is so good because it's taken by Imelda A.K.A. Sunset Shutterbug. You can find her awesome photos on Etsy. Of course I'm partial to her cupcake with sprinkles pic. Hey Thanx for the shout out Shutterbug! I needed a picture.

Big Ass Veganville 50% Off ONE DAY Sale!

Woot! Woot. It's twoo. It's twoo. Veganville is having a big-ass 1/2 off sale starting this very minute. And it's running from now to doomsday. Well not that long, but it will run for 24 hours .And guess what it starts right now or whatever time I finish writing the entry. Yay.  It's to commemorate (<<< that's a lot of "mmms") Veganville's  Etsy 50th sale benchmark! And to thank you all for putting Veganville on the map.
That's right and guess what naysayers. Veganville hit 50 right after I posted my heart wrenching God epistle. (see my last post) One commenter (the only one) who happened to be my sister Heidi said I was wasting my breath. Well bahaha. I now have a friend in (fill in the blank). or just play the video.

So if you play this YouTube backwards you will find the secret code for your 50% off discount.(not including shipping) or gift certificates (that would be cheating!)
If you are local just convo me through Etsy and I will make you a reserved listing minus shipping.
The secret code is "haysoose". Tell your friends. Because I am a twoo believer.

A Heartwrenching Letter From GiGi

Dear God-
It's me GiGi. Again. I'm sorry I'm writing to you in a blog, but I had no choice. The fancy pants stationery I ordered from Etsy, didn't come today, being that it's dead Presidents Day. How are those guys doing, anyway? I hope that you fix teeth up there. I also ran out of pens, and thought of writing to you with beet juice, but I'm saving that for some lip gloss I'm going to whip up.
As you know I happen to like animals very much, so much so that as you probably know I don't eat or wear any. Yes it's true I have tried some un-cruelty free products in Sephora but maybe you should take that up with Sephora.
I realize I am not as globally active as I could be, but I'm not sure how my Voopee pies would do in the Yukon. Besides potatoes seem to have cornered the market there.
I'm writing because I worked very hard to increase Veganville's sales in the last two weeks and lots of that money went to fixing up our junk mobile. And now my Etsy is almost as dead as the Presidents we're celebrating.
So in compendium I'd like to apologize for the plastic bottles I still drink out of and the tin foil I sometimes wrap my pumpkin breads in. Is that why you are not giving me a new car or more sales or bigger digs?

Love and xoxoxoxo

P.S.
Did you get the new sample box I sent you?

Guess Who's At The Window

Hey, forgive me for not posting since the Opiesode. It's countdown to V-day and I'm a busy little bugger churning out vegan sweetness and light for the masses. I've missed you so. I didn't want to come by empty handed, so I managed to come up with some new surprises here in Veganville. Remember this.. when these blondies were just a glint in my eye. Well we've worked on these in the Veganville test kitchen and we think these blondies are so delicious that they might even become a legend. And guess what! Legends never die, which means these blondies will have an infinite shelf life and will never ever expire. They'll out live you and you can even be buried in your mausoleum with a box of them. Okay... none of that is true except maybe the mausoleum part. Besides, these are so awesome that you'll forget all about expiration dates, (yours and theirs). You will want to eat them right away. Hey live a little! Here's just a hint of this new product the first in our line of, "Guess Who's At the Window Box" boxes, and who better to introduce the these blondies than...
Blondies Have More Fun

Marilyn Can't Wait to Get Her Hands on These
and you won't either! Box comes with Marilyn coveting the goodies. That's why they're called "Guess Who's at the Window Box". Thanx for the great pic, Larry! Coming to an Etsy near you.

I apologize for the white font above. The sentence  was hijacked by an irate html highlighter. Please come back soon.

MoFo 21 Chocolate Lover's Box

It's dark and dank out. Just a perfect night for a hot shower, and snooze after a long day in the kitchen. Woke up groggy with a growling tummy. When I padded into the kitchen Larry was adding veggie broth to left over tempeh and rice noodles. Marcia was grilling some ciabotta with Earth Balance. I preferred to spray some oil in a pan for a quick rice noodle sautee sans soup. We all seemed quite content with our carb comfort, but I think we were all secretly jonesing for one of the new Veganville Voopee pies.
My friend Simon the Pie Man took this pic

Check it out! I'm so freaking excited! There's Razzlin Raspberrry, Jivin' Java, PB, Minty Oreo, and a Sweet Shmear sandwiched inside each one. They're perfect with a tall glass of cold vanilla rice milk or a hot soy chai. Thanx for swinging by. See you tomorrow.

GiGiTown

Who cares if I wrenched my back boogieing to the new Robert Plant tune. It seemed like the right thing to do, after all me and the little old bloggie had reached a benchmark. Yep we now had 55 followers. 55 followers in blogsppeak means 55 people sign up to follow what I regurgitate, (not such a good choice of word for a cooking blog), I know. 55 followers mean that in actuality 2 people occasionally read Veganville. One brave soul actually contemplates  making one of my recipes. But Wowee anyway!  With 55 followers I could call my blog GiGiTown. We could be a cruciferous cult and wear faux fur hats. We'd all eat my tofu nuggets three times a week. Followers would build GiGi Town cupcake goddess shrines. Just when I was coming up with a good chant, "I wanna take you to GiGiTown, GiGiTown", I saw that one follower had jumped ship. GiGitown was but a dream. Veganville now had 54 followers again. I know exactly who jumped ship too. It was someone with the handle veggiegail. My mommy almost named me Gail too. I was almost my own follower. Well that's too bad, veggiegail. You'll just have to miss out on my delicious agave sweetened kool - aid.
