MoFo 20 Candy and Such

I know. I know it's Monday and Germanfest Monday to boot or das boot.  I'll have something Oktoberfesty for you a few paragraphs down, I promise. I am really sorry I can't deal with the Fraulein Lipshitz costume right now. Heimlich aka Psycho Boy is having another stupid allergy attack and I don't want him to mess up his lederhosen. They are on loan. Heimlich is not.

I want candy. I didn't make any. As a rule I don't eat candy or processed sugar even in it's non bone char form. The powers that be must want me to stare and salivate over candy because this has been a newsworthy week for candy in our house.

First off guess what?! I won swag. I won swag. I won a nifty organic bag and quinoa chocolate and a coupon for free Coconut Bliss ice creme. Yeah, I won it from John's blog the Laziest Vegans in the World. I was so surprised that the swag got here super fast since John is lazy and might not have ever gotten around to putting my prizes in the mail. John got up off his recliner and away from his own stash of vegan raisinetts to mail it. Go John! So here I am staring at the chocolate, or is the chocolate staring at me? I've already used the bag. Swag. Thank you, John. Oh LVIW is the best place to learn about vegan convenience fun foods.

Then there is this really cool vegan online bakery Etsy shop opening up. Anne, the owner of Annabel's Lil Rescue Hen is a really kind pastry chef who loves saving chickens. Ann will distribute 30% of all proceeds to several rescue org. Anne currently has 16 chicken companions. Anyway I passed on a few Etsy tips to very sweet Ann, and she's been plying me with vegan treats to share with my friends ever since. Thank you for your generosity. I did take a few little nibbles as you can see by the teethmarks below. And everyone I have shared these goodies with has agreed that they are absolutely top notch and delectable.
If anybody else needs any tips from me in exchange for good things, I am here. Right here at this blog. I never leave.
I was just tooling around the net and found vegan candy land. It's not really called that it's called the Natural Candy Store.

You can find this sucker there.
I guess I was supposed to share the very hearty Bavarian barley soup we had for dinner tonight, as promised. I don't think so. Now I understand why you are supposed to eat dessert after soup instead of before. I mean really... who wants barley after a lolly.
Ho hum guess we'll have to save the soup for a rainy day. That's life in candy land or Veganville.

Don't Be a Dum Dum, Dum Dum and Vegan Posole

So I have this big ass contest going on here in Veganville. Yep since like um before last week. Yep. Lots of people, yep lots and lots of people have entered.

NOT!

You know how many????  Look below for the answer.

You don't see any numbers. Do you? You don't see anything at all, right? That's because NOBODY ENTERED! NOBODY!
Bupkis. A big ass zero for the big ass contest. Which in my self respected opinion is:

Dum, Dum, Dum!  When you could win yum yum yum! See contest! Hey...speaking of dum, dum, dum. That's the name of the dummy pic above. This is a photo dear to my beating ventricle. It's from the ultra fantastic Etsy shop, Snailbooty. If I were you I would move my booty over to Snailbooty before I snatch up this pic for myself.

Did you know that I was almost a ventriloquist? Well I was... I had a dum dum like the middle dum shown above. Jerry and I were inseparable when I was in the first grade. We had matching red suits and we went everywhere together. Jerry would even order dinner for me. "GiGi will have a knish, and I'll have a Shirley Temple." That is until Jerry's head fell off!

Hey look what I found. I knew I'd find you my long lost friend! Sob, Sob. You can find Jerry's head sans body at Marieskidscollege, a nifty little vintage shop only on Etsy. Why he's almost like "Johnny got his gun" of the dummy world.

I think I'm gonna see if my friend Gil the lamp guy can make Jerry's noggin into a lampshade, just for old time's sake. Gil says they will put a lightbulb in anything. Even Jerry.
And let me tell you- some heads are going to roll if nobody plays my contest, Bahahaha. Jerry said that, not me. Dum de dum dum.
While we are waiting for a contestant to freaking show up, here's a delicious recipe for Posole.
Traditional Posole is more brothy, so feel free to up the liquid content. Either way it's a bowl of hearty goodness. I like it more stew like.

Pozole Stew

1 small can roasted diced chipotle peppers
3 cloves of garlic chopped
1 C chopped onions
1 T canola oil
1 Summer squash diced
1 yellow, red or green pepper diced
1 zucchini diced (boy this is getting dicey)
1 tomato diced
2 tofurky links sliced (we slice 'em we dice 'em)
3 T tomato paste
15 oz can hominy (drained)
16 oz can pinto beans with chipotle rinsed and drained
1 tsp. cumin
1.5-3 C vegan broth or H2O
sea salt to taste
oregano to taste
cilantro julienned (optional)
1 avocado (optional)
lime
tortilla chips

***** breaking news******we interrupt this recipe to bring you a contestant****All the way from Chicago****
I Can't believe I won another box of voopees, GiGi!

I'm speechless, Oprah.

But I'm not speechless!
How did you like my Oprah impression, GiGi?

At one time you had the upper hand in our relationship Jerry, but now you have no hands so I win. So bob on out of here so I can finish this recipe.

Posole continued: without interruption, Jerry!
Heat oil in big heavy pot and add chipotle, onions, garlic and veggies, and saute. Add remaining veggies and tofurky rounds and cook til lightly browned. Add hominy, beans, tomato paste, spices and the amount of water (or veggie broth) you are comfortable with. Simmer for about a half hour. Serve in bowls. Top with cilantro, lime and avocado. (I added lime to the Pasole while it was cooking) then added more to my bowl. Just because I like it.

I used to like Pazole, but now it goes right through me. Bahaha. Good Oprah impression, huh, GiGi,huh?
Jerry quit talking over me! Sorry for all the interruptions today, folks.  Hey don't be a dum dum. Be a smarty. Play the contest, join the party.

Big Sale at Veganville- Really!

You got that right. It's a Big Whopper of a Sale here in Veganville. Take 15% of your item(s) purchase. From right now through Labor Day.  That's right. You gotta have that secret code to use at checkout, or let me know if you are ordering through another source than Etsy. I racked my noggin' for a code that is imaginative, memorable, fancy and wholesome. We thrive on uniqueness here at Veganville.
Drumroll please... the secret code is:
                                                "summersale"

This is what summer in some parts of the Bay Area is like right now!
Remember when you enter the secret code at checkout it is without the quotes, and don't use a space. I'm always happy to take custom orders. Just convo me on Etsy. Stay warm or cool wherever you are.

For The Horseys!

After last week's jalopy hullabaloo I almost forgot to tell you something. I like to share the good stuff too, you know. Particularly when it comes to some shameless self promotion. There's always good if you look for it.

Veganville's PB Lover's Voopee romantically dubbed "PB and Chocolate Get Married" Voopee was chosen as one of Etsy's top five cookies of the week over at this delightful blog called Silverrose Designs.  Holly Westfall promotes other Etsian artists as well as her own beautiful shop, but I made this ...She does not make voopees. Maybe she does, most people do these days.
Holly hand crafted these stunning earrings though. I did not. It's hard to make jewelry when I'm making voopees.
Here is the coolest thing about the above jewelry. You get to support a great animal organization! 100% of the purchase price on these earrings goes to benefit Forever Morgans. FM's mission statement:
ForeverMorgans is an organization of volunteers whose purpose is to be a resource for Morgans in need, whether they are surrendered, rescued from shelters, auctions, kill buyers, or simply removed from potentially dangerous situations. ForeverMorgans wishes to open our virtual barn doors to all Morgans in need of safe and loving homes. We focus on registered Morgans but will consider unregistered Morgans on a case-by-case basis.

So gallop on over to Holly's Shop. You'll be doing a good deed, indeed! I'm done horsing around (oh, boy- sorry). Thank you Holly!

A Visit to Veganosaurus and a Trip to To Lulu's

I was so excited to go get my hair done by the marvelous Miss Tina the very cool owner of Down at Lulu's. This is always an experience. The place is pink and red with glamour mirrors. I get to browse nifty vintage clothes, yap with Tina or thumb through a 60's dos mag. My favorite part is to sit and chill, spin around in the beauty chair and listen to an eclectic mix of punk and 60's lounge beats. Three hours in a chair is good for my tuckus and tootsies, but my junk mobile had other plans.

We broke down two times in the last three weeks. My good buddies Gil and Mo helped with Veganville deliveries, and my friend Jo even lent us a car for a week. But then Psycho boy told me yes it was indeed a miracle that the junk mobile was running again. I am fond of miracles so I believed Larry's insane diatribe. After all, I'm not too wrapped myself. So when the junker went up in smoke somewhere in the ghetto across from Triple A Ripple Liquors, I had to hoof it over to Tina's. Blisters be damned I had to get my freaking roots done. I love my new doo as usual, but my feet are a red mass of bubbles. Head to toe beauty is not happening in this package. I won't tell you what else went down, but suffice it to say I had a monster of a week.

And hey, speaking of monsters...I gotta turn you onto this monster mash of an Etsy store. Veganosaurus is vegan owned and operated. Susmitha is the multi-talented creator behind these miniature monsters. Boo! Did I scare you? My blistered feet might scare you but these adorable creatures will just warm your heart.

His name is Lint. Told ya cute right?

And these are the backsides of a gang of "Mopeys"

And if all this cuteness was not enough, Susmitha is quite the vegan chef. Can't do a blog without some food porn thrown in.
http://cutelittlepackage.blogspot.com/search?q=wrap
OMG pecan pesto cabbage wraps. I could have used a sampling of these while twirling around in Tina's chair.
Check out the recipe here:
http://cutelittlepackage.blogspot.com/2011/01/vegan-masala-crust-pizza-with-marinaded.html
Masala Pizza Yum yum.
Check out this scrumptousness from the multidimensional Susmitha. Darn you Susmitha ;) Right now the most multidimensional thing about me are my highlights/lo lights. Thank you Tina! Check out both these ladies out of the ordinary shops for extraordinary experiences.

Lady Marmalade, a Quiz and Analog Accessories

It's word association day here in Veganville. If you like, phrase association day. There is one rule. As beautiful as the word "sunshine" is you will be exempt if you use it.
What 4 things come to mind when you think of the word "orange"? I'll go first.

1. Tango- It is an orange flavored vodka one drinks from a paper bag when Ripple isn't available.
2. Tang- a space age drink astronauts used to drink when Tango wasn't available.
3. Charlie Manson's jumpsuit.
4. Orange you glad I didn't say Sirhan Sirhan's jumpsuit ---I mean banana. No pun intended.

Now you go. I'll make the sound of a clock while you pick your four words. Go! Tick, tick (sorry I just had a little tic...bahaha). Anyway, times up. We don't have all day. I want to present this new recipe but first I want to bring you this cool little Etsy shop, called  Analog Accessories They carry all sorts of cool bags, pouches, totes, even coasters (perfect if you get tired of swigging  Ripple from a paper bag). Take a peek at this.

I love corduroy and the lining is just so pretty. Boy I wish I knew about this orange pouch before I used up my four guesses. You can find Annalog Accessories-  Just click on the link above and Anna the store owner even has a great blog called Carrot and Potato Time where she talks about vegan dining experiences and posts great recipes. Carrots, damn those are orange, why didn't I think of carrots? Anyway, before you hightail outta here to do some shopping therapy at Analog Accessories or check out Anna's uber cool blog-Here are my new cuffins.

Lady Marmalade Cuffins (Cuffins because they're not a muffin and not a cupcake exactly)

Makes 6 Jumbo Cuffins

Ingredients
2 cups unbleached flour
3 tablespoons organic sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 C Water mixed with 1 T Ener-g egg replacer
3/4 cup rice milk
2/3 cup orange marmalade
1/4 cup canola oil
ICING:
1/4 cup orange marmalade
3 tablespoons tofutti softened
1 T orange juice concentrate thawed
1 cup confectioners' sugar
or use your own glaze, why don't you. I can't really see what you're doing anyway.

Directions: Line Cuffin pan with cuffin liners

1.In a large bowl, combine  flour, sugar, baking powder and seasalt. In another bowl, beat the egg replacer slurry, marmalade and oil. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.

2.Fill paper-lined cuffincups three-fourths full. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20- 24 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean or they get springy to the touch. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack.

3.In a small mixing bowl, beat the marmalade and tofutti until fluffy. Stir in confectioners' sugar until smooth. Dip and swirl tops of cuffins in glaze.

  Works for me.

Here's  a little music to get y'all cookin! Thanx for stopping by!

Experiment in the Kitsch Pre Rapture

I had a moment in the test kitchen yesterday. There is a reason they are called experiments. Do you know what an experiment is boys and girls? According to Webster an experiment is a method of testing - with the goal of explaining - the nature of reality. For reals. I'm working on Orange Uncrummy Muffins. Although delicious, (crazy Taurus man downed the whole tin), they are not ready to present to the world for some unexplainable reason. They need to be cosmetically tweaked- a little kitchen botox.

And now for some shameless self promotion... drumroll please. Check out the Veganville interview at Christine Murray's gorgeous blog called Kezia and Friends.
http://keziandfriends.blogspot.com/2011/05/veganville.html

While there take a gander at Michelle's handmade jewelry at her Etsy shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/maryanny143

I Love these! Just in case anybody missed my birthday ^ mid- April .

And as if that special feature wasn't enough excitement for one week, a treasury Veganville's Assorted Chocolate Voopee box is in made the front page of Etsy. That's big stuff! It's like having a commercial run during the Super Bowl, whatever that is.

http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4dd685e1d7906d9108f52797/no-lame-ties-for-dad-here?page=2#comments

It was created by the talented and whimsical and villainous Sinister Soaps. Vincent Price would be proud.
Here's just a sampling of Sinister's wares.  See you after the Rapture, my friend. Bahahaha.

New Kick Ass Chocolate Lover's Sample Box and Vegan Bake Sale

Greetings and Salutations from an undisclosed oven. Please don't confuse me with Sylvia Plath. Sorry, I'm getting a little punch drunk here. New goodies aboard. And in addition to our other nifty locations you can now find Veganville Muffins at Philz Coffee on Shattuck in Berkeley, and at Thyda's Thornhill Coffee House at 5772 Thornhill Drive in Oakland. Come check out our muffins and voopees. Yippekayay.

I had a special request from my buddy Hope (of the cool Blackbird and Peacock) for a "Chocolate Lover's Box" over at Etsy this week. Now why didn't I think of that before? We have a "PB Lover's Box" and a "Mint Lover's Box" and a "Sample Box" and a "Chocolate Voopee Assortment Box", but where was my head on that one? Yeah I know- probably in the oven. Sorry Sylvia. It includes Double Choc Choco Voppees, hunks of devil rich Sam Sam Loaf, Jumbo Chocolate Cupcakes and some Chocolate Mousse to boot. Or if you prefer some groovy Chocolate "Creme" Cheese frosting.

Did a vegan bakesale to raise funds for Animal Place this past weekend. Animal Place rescues abandoned and abused farm animals and does dynamic work.

The mastermind behind the sale is my pal, activist and jewelry and bath/body designer and (part-time bakesale baker) Roni Seabury from Daisywares. There were so many spectacular bakers. A big shout out to Yvonne Emanuel, Tiana Trutna, Dana Portnoy, Me, Raelene Coburn, Kelly Beth, Vanessa Morelan and Laura Etter for donating vegan baked goods to the Animal Place Bake Sale. And of course Roni for making those Mexican Wedding cookies that sold like vegan hotcakes!

People were generous and a big thanx goes out to Nature's Express for letting us use the space in front of their store. Mary Rose rocks. I got to sample their Salt Caramel frozen dessert. Freeze head prevailed but it's oh so good and worth every moment of my icy cerebrum! Everything sold out, well almost everything (there were a couple of lonesome carob muffins left). $602.00 was raised it would have been $604.00 but ahem ahem someone swiped a Chocolate Oatmeal Banana cookie and it ruled! I mean I heard it was quite good.

Yay For Veganville

It's been a week without a bloggie and a week without a bloggie makes one weak. Bahaha. Wait don't go yet. I need to reach a 100 followers very soon. We've been very busy here in Veganville. We've gotten two new awesome local accounts and are burgeoning here in the Bay Area. We are so excited about this. Money is always good but making quality scrumptious vegan food readily available for the masses is even better. Better for the animals, better for the earth, and better for the body. I'll give you specifics and locations real soon.
I'll be trying out two new muffins in the test kitch this week too, but alas have no new pics to share so I think I will shhhh mum's the word, surreptitiously swipe a very pretty picture from another blog.

Ooooh look what I found- a picture of a Veganville Sampler here at this great blog. The picture is so good because it's taken by Imelda A.K.A. Sunset Shutterbug. You can find her awesome photos on Etsy. Of course I'm partial to her cupcake with sprinkles pic. Hey Thanx for the shout out Shutterbug! I needed a picture.

Hey Check out This Uber Cool Vegan Etsy Shop

We interrupt this Veganville sale to showcase another cool Etsy shop. Yes it's true I'm in need of some major Karma points and yes it would be a relief if that hex on me was removed sometime soon but that's not why I've decided to be super nice and use my blog to hype Baubles4knitwits.

Members of the Etsyveg team have all taken a pledge to support and promote one another's shops and feature one a week. The Etsyveg team consists of vegan and vegetarian artisans and shop owners. This week Baubles4knitwits is in the spotlight. B4K, (I just made that up), Jenn Hernandez' adorable and vibrant vegan Etsy shop features stitch markers and knitting accessories for all you crafty Bees out there. I don't know what a stitch marker is exactly. Does it keep time...like a stitch in time. I'm doing my best here. I am the rare Etsian who is not a domestic goddess in all areas. Knitting needles are just sticks to me. Just more things to keep from poking my eyes out with, but look how cute these are.

Bet they would look great as a hair adornment... I mean if they are not too close to my eyes

It seems like Jen excels in a lot of areas. She even brews her own kombucha and has her own cooking blog too- cookinvegan.com. Oh, shoot me now. And check out these beautiful tangerine swirl stitch markers. Wouldn't they make great earrings too? Or keychains even? See they are multi-purpose stitch markers.

And speaking of all Jen's nifty accessories did I tell you that I bought a new pair of spring- summer shoes? What do you think? They are super comfy and I think they'd be da bomb with my new hemp hair sticks.

Carmine? Carmine Who?

I really didn't know. I swear. But first I have to tell you a little story, to explain away my stupidity.
When my dad and mom whisked us away from our beloved Brooklyn to live in the land of manicured lawns and jockey statues and 5 million dollar gold nativity scenes, they were good intentioned. Fresh air was on their mind. My dad, a Jewish Head Honcho on the NYPD, could never have guessed who his neighbors would be. Marian the Jesus Freak with the long polyester skirt and 11 inch crucifix necklace, her husband Dudley who mowed their lawn in a shirt and tie and her 2 future mass murderer children, (one shot a hole through my parents dining room wall and hid a cat in their gas barbecue), lived on one side. Carmine, the small town mafia crook and his brood lived on the other side. Marian religiously tried to convert my dad. (I know stupid joke). Carmine on the other hand would give you the shirt off his back which was often taken from someone else's back. Still he was generous and he and my dad became fast pals except when Carmine's other pals were there, (he didn't want to look like a snitch). So that was Carmine. Carmine had a son named Carmine Jr. Carmine's grand daughter was  named Carmella. And lots of the their friends were also named Carmine and Carmine Jr. Long Island in fact was infested with Carmines.
Carmine Example
I know. I know you probably found out all about a different "carmine" in HS biology class. Suffice it to say, I was elsewhere. So today, yes today, (the total shame), I found out that Carmine the ingredient found in some cosmetics is not just an Italian ingredient. Carmine is a pigment prepared by boiling dried insects in water. Other ingredients are added to precipitate the coloring process. Ingredients, like egg whites, fish shells and gelatin are often used to bring out the red. I mean who knew-everybody but me apparently. I usually purchase cosmetics that are labeled vegan or at the very least say no animal testing. Well Marian, if I find Carmine, (wait in my cosmetics... (wait does that mean Carmine is a cross dresser?) I'll just have to convert.
Here are some beautiful and economical vegan cosmetics that keep there distance from Carmine. Check them out. They'll make you look hot.

From Brazen Cosmetics -I love this! "Screw Cupid"
or their sizzling pot of red...

Passionate about purple and animals- check  out mineral love's array of shadows

Without Carmine you can pucker up those vegan lips with awesome lip picks like EpicallyEpicSoap's Noir

You can keep that pledge to take off that makeup before you go to sleep with Daisyware's super gentle vegan eye makeup remover.

A Public Apology, and a Thank you

I know you probably stopped by Veganville for some food stuff. And yes, food is the staff or stuff if you like, of life. But really aren't we all a wee bit blimpy after the last few days. Before you settle down in that big comfy chair, (well it used to be big and comfy), with another vat of "Silk Nog", why dontcha switch it up for some nice sparkling water and go run around the block. I don't give a flying falafel if there's a blizzard in your area. I need a minute to compose my thoughts. See ya in a minute.

Hi! Welcome Back. Boy you're sweating like a pig. I take back all that stuff about blimpiness. I owe enough amends and I just lost two FB fans too. I don't think that's my fault though. I think they changed their settings and are hidden from all of FB. Come out, come out where ever you are.

Year in Review Amends to People I happily dissed on my blog:
1. Zooey Deschanel
2. That vegan chick who is  a great big fat liar and eats duck innards now
3. Mommy
4.The late Gary Coleman
5. Tom Carvel
6. Bono
7.Squeaky Fromm
8.Mommy, ( still no Christmas present?)

I'm very sorry.

To the mother and daughter team, (Rachel and Janet), over at Life Told In Recipes  I owe a big super duper apology, even though they are not vegan. They have featured my blog and some of my food writings for their meatless days, so when Janet asked me to write something for their holiday recipe swap I happily obliged, then flaked. Janet not being a vegan asked me during MoFo...bleary eyed time for this vegan, and baker. I was blogging daily and hustling to get out Thanksgiving and pre- Thanksgiving orders. My defense rests. zzzzzz.  Seriously, my utmost apologies, ladies.

I've met so many cool people this year, have read so many great blogs and have been featured in numerous Etsy treasuries. Veganville's goodies and my writing have been featured in a number of blogs this year as well. Why even today Veganville's PB Voopees were featured on Gildinglilies very beautiful blog. Thank you so much. Please check out Gildinglilies awesome art at Etsy. You can click on her link while you're checking out the voopee aesthetics!

I've also won a number of prizes this year. No not the James Beard or Blogger of the millennium Award or anything. I won some really cool free stuff.

Amends #52
I apologize for not talking up those spectacular prizes sooner, Don Pardo.
I will tomorrow, I promise. Really, I can't take doing any more amends for 2010.

Shrink Wrap is My Craft

I am invited to paper mache day at my crafty friend Catherine's house. All the craft genius gals will be there. My friends assure me that the glue there will not contain any horse remnants. This puts me somewhat at ease since I would not show up if there was nothing for me to sniff. I am very creative but I suck at crafts. I have PTSD from finger painting, hand print tracing and teeny tiny macaroni art. After five plus years of kindergarten you'd think I'd walk away with some ability other than being able to memorize a couple of rounds of Old MacDonald. Ei-ei-ooooh. Sorry got lost for a minute.
True, I made my 91 year old father an ashtray once, when he turned 90. I forgot it was in the kiln, and we both forgot he gave up smoking 40 years ago.
I'm grateful for the abilities I do have. Why, my new Pumpkin Voopees even made this tasty new Treasury on Etsy. Okay mine are the only ones not decorated but the Voopees are the only Vegan product in it. It took several tries but now I'm really good at shrink wrap. I was looking for Vegan Candy Corn the other day. I was surprised to see that nobody manufactures Vegan Candy Corn, but some multi-talented Vegan mama turns it out in her home kitchen. The recipe reads like "War and Peace". She churns out the candy corn whilst whipping up Vegan Cured Tofu Prosciutto with melon shaped as a bat. Her Halloween costumes are fine stitched from hemp. Said wunderkind does this all while rock climbing in Peru to save some exotic flat footed Platypus. I hate her. Mommy, if you are reading this, I know it's not nice to hate, but that Miss Smartypants didn't stay in Kindergarten until she was 11.

Here I am in the Etsy Treasury.

Looking for a fantastic Vegan gift for under $11.00, (one item is $10.00). These are from my very talented friend's shops.

These Balms are the bomb. I love the root beer. A steal at  just $4.00. They come to you from Daisy Wares in Berkeley. Check out the rest of my friend Roni's shop for great jewelry, and Vegan soaps

http://www.etsy.com/listing/57049246/be-here-now-pif
This necklace is a beautiful reminder to keep it in the moment! Can't beat the price at $6.00 from my friend Sherry's shop Solstice D out of Michigan.

http://www.etsy.com/listing/58744063/whos-your-mummy-creepy-bat-doll
Although my friend Brooke's shop is not entirely vegan, Brooke does so much work for dog and animal rescue. Major props to Brooke. The newest addition to Brooke's menagerie is a sweet little blind chihuahua named Charlie. Bat Girl is made from recycled materials and found objects and is Vegan. Bat Girl is such a weird little cutie and what a great price too. You can purchase Bat Girl for 10 bucks at Brooke's "Feral Artery" Shop.
Happy shopping everybody.

Java Jolt

It's only been a couple of days since the Veganville Voopee Pie contest began and I've already received a myriad of drool worthy flavor entries. This is very exciting. This morning I am very excited to be excited since yesterday morning I was a tiny depressed slug on a rug. Of course today's excitement could be a bit of coffee generated madness. I don't freakin' care. I'll take what I can get. Over the years my Dickensian pit of despair has become less frequent. My restless nights at the orphanage are over and I no longer fear debtor's prison, the Bastille or even a shitty Christmas. I am happy :) to say the face of dysphoria has changed. Once in a blue moon, (get it bahaha), I will creep into the rocking chair and focus on an object way across the room. Who cares if telekinesis isn't what it used to be. Yes Uri Geller has been debunked and even I've lost interest in bending spoons. I do however try to clean silverware from the next dimension. Still, in my bleak house of despair I question my contribution in this lifetime...and of course  just question the universe in general.

What if my Veganville Voopee Pies are all there is, my friend?
What if the Voopees are not cakey enough?
Vut if the Voopees are too cookie? and then...
Did Sylvia Plath ever make a baked potato in her oven?
And if Sylvia did...Did Sylvia use Earth Balance?
Why isn't that cup moving?
Do I have to wax my mustache again?

And then in a flash the hard questions pass and are replaced with...
How 'bout a new Java Jolt Cupcake?
or a Brooklyn Black and White Cupcake-
or a...Coffee Glazed Espresso Bundt Cake-
 or Quinoa Tabbouleh or...
and then I'm up and off my rocker and back to sticking my head in the oven. I think Sylvia made french fries.

Check out this mind bending silverware on Etsy. I love these!!! You can find them on Etsy at Vegan Aesthetics.
