Who Dat Vegan?
Before I introduce you to tonight's guest, let's do a quick recap of the vegans we've met along the way.
We began our series with a journey to India. There we met with the very warm and chatty, adorable ice creme goddess Susmitha, from the blog Veganosaurus

We followed up by venturing to the Iowa heartland and Cadry's Kitchen where we chatted with the very smart, funny, smoothee taco/queen and party extraordinaire herself, Cadry. Click here for the interview
My third interviewee, Kendy aka Miss Muffcake travelled from the Central Valley of California to meet with me at a nearby restaurant. We broke bread (or ate wraps) and I had a great time hanging with the really candid, witty, eclectic Miss Muffcake.
Did I find a commonality with all the interviewees? Yes. Of course they are all talented, and bring their special voice to their blogs. I think every one I've met is dedicated to their various crafts, and are disciplined enough to bring it to life on their pages. They were all funny and engaging, and have an unshakeable belief in Veganism. I feel so honored to be part of the Vegan blogging community.
I met Kylie from the Etsy store, Fabulously Fierce and my vegan Etsy team about a year ago. I dug her kitschy punk and goth aprons and kitchen towels. We began chatting a little on the team boards, and her kindness and dependability and talent immediately shined through. She then approached me to do an interview for her blog, Fellowship of the Vegetable and now here I am doing the same ;) Kylie was also kind enough to splice and edit the video over on her end. Many thanks to the multi-talented Kylie.
Many of you have been so receptive and we've recieved so many comments on each interview, thank you so much. Many of you have asked if we would continue these interviews beyond MoFo. We will back with another Who Dat Vegan the second Thursday of November. On the first Thursday of November, Veganville will be participating in that virtual
global potluck over at An Unrefined Vegan's blog. I promise to give a link to that very soon, but for now I have too many linkies.
Another awesome interview! Great to know more about you and your journey into veganism, Kylie. :)
ReplyDeleteGi, you know how much I've been enjoying your Who Dat Vegan series. I'm so glad to know that you'll have your next one in November and am totally looking forward to it.
You should also totally do a Who Dat Vegan, featuring you as the interviewee. Maybe all of us who have been interviewed so far can ask one question each and you could answer them. :)
Thanks Susmitha! I LOVE your idea of all of us interviewing GiGi!!
DeleteAwww, thank you so much, Susmithy! You were so great kicking this off.
DeleteHow cool is that idea. I love that.
If we could edit it together I think that's a fantastic idea. I have to figure out this editing siystem.
*system*
DeleteI can help! I had fun doing it!
DeleteYou are awesome!! Thank you Kylie.
DeleteOh, I totally forgot... SQUEEEE @ Willow! She's adorable. And what a perfect name for her. haha
ReplyDeleteI know, right?! We feel so lucky to have her in our lives!
DeleteI love Willow!
DeleteI'm so glad you're going to continue with these interviews! It's so cool to put a face/voice/personality to a name/blog. Plus, I've been introduced to some really stellar, new-to-me bloggers! I love Susmitha's idea of all of us interviewees interviewing you! I really enjoyed learning more about Kylie & her fabulous Etsy shop. Also as a person who has a cat named Spike, I greatly approve of her dog named Willow!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome Cadry! We were at the dog park a couple months ago and there was a woman there with her dog Buffy...it was hilarious!
DeleteCadry, thank you so much for being such a great part of this.
DeleteI'm game.
Kylie is awesome, glad to see her featured!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree, thanx for swinging by Mara.
DeleteNice interview!
ReplyDeleteI agree a GiGi interview would be boss!
:)
DeleteWhat's so funny about a dog named Buffy? My dog was named Buffy. :)
ReplyDeleteNice interview. And GiGi, you were right about the towels.
Nothing wrong, it was funny that Buffy and Willow were together in dog form :)
DeleteI was only kidding. And it IS funny! (I really did have a dog named Buffy, though.)
DeleteAwww,your dog. I remember :(
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking the funniness might lie in something that has to do with the show they all watch called, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."
I could be wrong.
Great interview! I enjoyed Kylie's becoming vegan story. I was vegan before my husband too and I also didn't say a word and he came to it on his one. We were both vegetarian for many years. I also hope you continue the interviews!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I knew if I tried to convert me husband he wouldn't do it out of stubbornness :) It was cool that he converted!
DeleteThank you Veggie Amanda. Those hubbies. I think you know this story, Kylie. I've been with CrazyB for 23 years and although I never cooked meat for him he did not stop eating red meat and pork until about 12 years ago, then became veg around 5.5 years ago and vegan 2 years ago. No prodding from me. One day two years ago when he was playing with yet another neighborhood cat I said you know you love animals so much and would make sense for you to go vegan. and it clicked.
DeleteLove them, GiGi! Keep em' coming!!
ReplyDeleteThanx so much VA. What if we put you behind a screen and interview you next? We could keep your anonymity.
DeleteGreat video! Kylie is such an amazing woman, and it's so great to see her kickin' ass in the vegan world now :) She really is just one of those people that is genuine and beautiful. Plus, she's a Buffy fan and that makes her cooler too ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, she is, agreed! Ha. Thank you and glad you enjoyed the video.
ReplyDeleteI'm even pooping glitter at this point. I just scoop the poop up and stick it back in the glue gun for anther go-round.
